We are a group of professional, qualified, experienced psychotherapists and counsellors who offer a range of general and specialist support services. There are also some senior psychotherapy trainees who can provide lower cost psychotherapy. All our practitioners are accredited by their professional and/or training body and follow ethical codes of practice. All therapists are in professional supervision to support their work and all follow mandatory continuing professional development to keep them abreast of developments in the field. All of this creates an environment in which your needs and emotional well-being are at the forefront of all interactions.
When you make contact with individual therapists you can ask them for information about their training, professional affiliations and approach as a first step to discovering whether they are the right person for you.
You can find the details of all our therapists on the Find a Therapist page. Some therapists see couples, some see younger people from age 14years upwards, and they will have received additional specialist training for this. Similarly some therapists, in addition to their original generalist training will have undergone further extensive training in particular areas like eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression, parenting and fertility, neurodiversity, adoption, and family systems. These specialisms and specific interest areas will be identified on each therapists’ entry.
Each therapist arranges their own sessions with you, so once you have decided who to contact, email or ‘phone them directly. Their contact details are at the end of their entry. Some therapists provide a free or brief introductory session, others provide a full initial session for which they charge, it’s advisable to check this with them before the first session. If a therapist feels they may not have the right experience for the issues you want to bring they will be able to recommend or refer you to someone better suited. Choosing the right therapist for you is a very personal matter, sometimes you may want to have an initial session with two or more people to reassure yourself that you feel comfortable, especially if the work is likely to be long term.
