Below are the therapists practicing from Wood Street Psychotherapy Rooms. Each therapist arranges their own sessions with you, so once you have decided who to contact, email or phone them directly. Their contact details are at the end of their entry. Some therapists provide a free or brief introductory session, others provide a full initial session for which they charge, it’s advisable to check this with them before the first session. If a therapist feels they may not have the right experience for the issues you want to bring they will be able to recommend or refer you to someone better suited. Choosing the right therapist for you is a very personal matter, sometimes you may want to have an initial session with two or more people to reassure yourself that you feel comfortable, especially if the work is likely to be long term.
I am a Psychotherapist and a founder member of the Abbey Practice and Wood Street Psychotherapy Rooms. I'm a senior practitioner with 25 years experience and was previously Head of Training at Wessex Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I'm particularly experienced and interested in working with individuals who have experienced childhood trauma, who suffer anxiety and individuals with neurodiverse traits. I welcome diversity of all kinds.
Starting therapy is a big step for anyone, it’s a rewarding but difficult and sometimes painful process and it’s vital that you feel safe and and trusting in your therapist to be interested and non-judgemental of you. I always suggest an initial full session so that you can experience what ongoing work will be like. I look forward to having contact with you.

I am a fully qualified Psychotherapist (MA Dip HIP) working in Bath and Frome. I work with individual clients and couples. I am UKCP registered. I hold a Certificate in Relational Couples Therapy.
My training is in 'Integrative Psychotherapy' which means I draw on theories that link our past experiences with how we are in the present, but I also work very much in the moment, supporting your own ability to be healthy in yourself and your relationships.
My couples work is also integrative in approach, working with you both to understand the context, history and potential future of your relationship. I work collaboratively, usually over a period of 6-10 sessions.
I welcome an introductory session/phone call, during which we can both talk about how we may like to work together.

I am a Jungian analyst, psychotherapist and UKCP registered supervisor working in consulting rooms in Chepstow and Bath. With 28 years of experience in private practice and managing teams in statutory services. I have a particular interest in eating disorders, relationships, and sexual compulsivity, and work with both individuals and couples – always taking care to create a warm, welcoming environment for clients. My work uses active imagination, symbolism, metaphor, and dream imagery as a way of accessing the unconscious and bringing about meaningful change. I qualified as a transpersonal psychotherapist CCPE in 2000.
My approach is adapted to your needs. I help you to explore the unconscious processes that cause emotional distress and prevent you from feeling at peace with yourself.

I offer a warm, supportive space where you can explore what’s troubling you — whether that’s anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, or simply a sense that something isn’t quite right.
I’m here to help you better understand yourself, your past, and the patterns that may be holding you back.
My Approach
I’m a humanistic integrative counsellor, which means I see you as the expert on your own life. My role is to help you access that knowledge, offering guidance and insight along the way. Being integrative means I draw on a range of counselling theories to tailor the work to you.
What working together looks like
The relationship between us is central. In weekly sessions, we’ll focus on the parts of your life that feel most difficult. Above all, I’ll offer a compassionate, non-judgemental space for you to feel heard, understood, and supported — wherever you are on your journey.

I am a UKCP registered Psychotherapist (MA Dip HIP) working in Bath. I provide weekly, 50 minute sessions to individual adult clients.
My approach is integrative and relational, meaning that I draw on theories that help us to make sense of our present experience through understanding how our relational experiences in the past have shaped us. Exploring the roots of our experience is part of the work, we also need to pay attention to our present selves to open up new ways of being and to move forward in our relationships with ourselves and with others.
I also draw on body based approaches as a useful way to become more aware of ourselves and to respond helpfully to ourselves. The physiological reality of our lives and the ways we tend to our nervous system can combine well with exploration of our habits, thoughts and feelings.

COUPLES:
I offer a safe, supportive and appropriately challenging environment to explore your relational difficulties and the hidden dynamics in your relationships.
Helping all parties to understand their unconscious and subconscious behaviours and how these can influence all their relationships can help facilitate understanding of yourself and others, break unhelpful patterns of relating and lead to permanent change.
HOW IT WORKS:
Starting therapy can be daunting but I’m here to answer any questions you might have.
Getting the right fit with your therapist is really important so I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation so we can talk over what is troubling you before you make that decision.

I am a fully accredited UKCP psychotherapist with almost thirty years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. Over the years, my practice has been shaped by extensive training, ongoing personal inquiry, and a deep commitment to supporting others in their inner work.
Choosing to begin therapy is a courageous decision. It asks us to turn towards ourselves with honesty and
curiosity, and in doing so, opens the possibility for growth, healing, and lasting change. I believe we are not bound by our past, nor do we need to live in fear of the future. As we deepen our self-awareness, we create more freedom and choice in how we live our lives. That process isn’t always easy, we are creatures of habit, even when those patterns no longer serve us, but it is always worthwhile.
My training includes an MA in Core Process Psychotherapy from the Karuna Institute, a contemplative and transpersonal approach integrating Buddhist and Western psychology, mindfulness, and neurobiology. I am a fully qualified Internal Family Systems (IFS) Level 1 practitioner and have additional specialist training in systemic
family therapy, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), and couples therapy with Jill Gabriel.
I work with warmth, compassion, and integrity. I have particular experience supporting clients navigating developmental trauma, loss, adoption, anxiety, stress, and relational difficulties. I’m passionate about continuing to learn and grow in service of my clients and the therapeutic relationships we build together.

I am a UKCP accredited and BACP registered psychotherapist with ten years’ clinical experience working in private practice.
I help people to overcome their difficulties so they are free to fully live their lives and reach their potential. I have experience with a wide range of emotional and psychological problems including; depression/low mood; anxiety; panic attacks; overwhelm; relationship difficulties; low self-esteem/low self-confidence; anger management/destructive anger; self-defeating and self-destructive patterns of behaviour; and lack of
meaning or purpose.
Right from the first session, you will gain more clarity on what is causing your problems and what needs to be done to relieve your distress so you can have the life you want.
The approach I use is based primarily on Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) which scientific studies have shown is highly effective with a wide range of psychological problems and aims to fast-track the path to change and healing. Results are typically seen much more quickly than with traditional models of therapy.
I offer in-person therapy in a quiet, comfortable and confidential space in Bath, as well as working with people online, in order for you to explore and reflect on your feelings and gain a deeper understanding of yourself so you can guide your life more effectively.
You are very welcome to contact me if you have any further questions. I offer a free 30-minute introductory online meeting to discuss your particular circumstances, whether I can help you and for you to decide whether I am the right therapist for you.
